Transmission would slip after it got hot, no reverse. Worked after cooling off. So, if your gears ain’t shot and there’s no worn parts in the pumps (see the videos), your problem may just be loss of viscosity and/or low fluid level of factory filled 10w30 that they put in them because synthetic is about $10.00 a quart.
To answer your question better, I need just a little bit more information about your problem. Does your mower go full speed when you first start.

I have a leak in my JD L120 K46 transmission coming from the left rear bolt. I have no leaks or other issues other than sluggish on hills. recently parched a used D110 John Deere. want to service transaxle. need diagram/parts list. new oil.
An L120 with the same slipping transmission problem. About 450 hours on it and most of my yard is sloped, not steep but not flat either. Replaced the drive belt, no.
